Notes from the road.

For me it's always a joy to have a book, a photo book in my hands. I received today Luigi's book and this joyful experience has been confirmed. The B&W is well printed, the photos are good (but we all already knew this), the selection and sequencing of the photo is well done, pictures are coherent and with a good rhythm. Nice to know how Luigi managed to transform a particular circumstance in an interesting body of work.
Bravo Luigi!

Thank you Robert for your generous comment and appreciated feedback! Like you, I love books (and photo books). It is my first attempt to make a small book and convert this project from bits to the paper... :)

Thank you Leicapixie! I'm glad you liked the concept and layout in the full preiew.
I have tried to do everything very simple to make room for images.
Best, Luigi.

Hi Luigi

Just received your book - what a pleasure! It is one of the best photo books I have seen in a long time. The printing is very good (can't always be sure with Blurb although they are constantly improving), excellent selection and a nice format very suited for the photos.

Some of the dark skies lend a slightly dramatic effect to the photos (post processing?) but I am never the less left with a feeling of serenity after having been through the whole book. I'll be taking it out when I am feeling stressed.

It has also been quite inspirational following the process - I have started looking at some of my own landscape photos in a new way. Most of them are taken for relaxation during weekends or short holidays, but putting them together might enable them to tell a story or convey a feeling!? Interesting...

And I'll probably have to start reading Kafka now - never thought that would happen

Hi Henrik,

thanks a lot for your comment and your words. I am really happy and honored. The best compliment that you can do is that you take this little book when you feel stressed. And especially that it made you want to come back on your landscape photos to build a story and perhaps a book.

I must say that the print quality is quite satisfactory, although Blurb can still improve the rendition of large bright surfaces (sky etc.). But it's digital print, not offset.

You are right, in some images the sky is a bit dark. Sometimes I choose in PP to approach as I have seen through sunglasses during the trip.

As for Kafka, he is in the book because during those months I have read his novels and short stories. :) Also, during my trips I heard Nick Drake: both perhaps an unconscious influence on these photographs. :)

Thanks again so much. I hope to see soon something of your landscape project!

Hi, I would like to see your book, but when I had a problem when I clicked the link.

First, I reached
http://www.blurb.com/b/5935797-notes-from-the-road?SSAID=389818&ce=affiliate_network

That showed the book cover, with a blue, over-written invitation to preview the book. I clicked that invitation and got a screen that said: "Preview shows the entire book". There was nothing to see except information about Blurb, and nothing from your book.

Any ideas about how I can fix this? I assume the problem is me, since many others were able to view the book.

No idea how help you but I just checked from my mob phone and it works without problems. Please note that first two pages are blank ! And give time to upload the photo, maybe a few seconds.
