but I think at least for RA4 a small tabletop RT processor is much more comfortable while being not necessarily more expensive nowadays.

It depends a bit on your work flow. However an ACP Thermaphot is indeed not expensive anymore there days however I bought 15 years ago a new ACP-252 (25 cm wide, 2-bath) which you can operate for B&W and RA-4 color in 2x 1,9 ltr. chemical content.

For RA-4 printing indeed the best way for the best results however in my case limited till 24x30,5cm prints. I have also a Jobo CPA-2 with elevator so in paper drums 40x50cm is easy then when you have to do same larger prints.

But for a quick set up the Nova is easier, fast and practical.

You have to turn them down to 5% with the mechanical aperture in intensity otherwise fogging the modern RA-4 papers. Also in that way the Thermaphot (or Jobo paper drum) is the best solution because you have to work in almost complete dark then.
