(Pay off the credit card is more like it.) I really like the meter in the M6TTL. It is very intuitive and not distracting. The numbers in the viewfinder of the R2A can be distracting. I have a recover kit on the way from Aki as I write this. If I keep it I am going to recover the M6 in the same skin as the M4-P was recovered. I really like it.

By the way, do you know how much the prior owner paid to have DAG put in the MP modification? thanks

I am not sure but I am checking. I imagine that it was not cheap.

There is something to be said for Leicas losing value after they have been modified in any way. This M6 has had a few changes and I am sure that these will make it less valuable to most. Changes like reskinning, painting and changing the red dot may make it worth less. The anti-flare upgrade would probably add some value though.

i think the basic upgrade is $280. putting in multicoated windows is extra; how much that is, i don't know.

How simple is it to change the Red dot to chrome or black, to match the body? I want an M6, but the thought of the Red Dot standing out like that makes me ill.

edit: nevermind,

Some of the better known Leica repairers stock aftermarket black dots - mine was a whopping $15 or $20, as I recall.
