Someone out there has one with the other lens group messed up, and will merge them. They may or may not wind up with a lens that focuses well, I don't know if Canon had as much "select at test" as Leica did. (They are from the land of statistical process control.)

I know of several merged 50/1.5s floating around here. I'm thinking about bidding and trying my hand at cleaning/repair of it, but OTOH, I just sent a LF shutter to Flutot's...
