Reading this story from NPR about a young teacher-turned war photojournalist was one of the more humbling things I've read in a long time.

I heard it yesterday on NPR.

I'm not sure if she is gutsy or passionate about the hand dealt to her.

Either, it is a good story.

There are some very interesting comments following the written post, as well.

I am sure she has guts ,it is not something confined to one culture😉

As noted in some of the comments for the article, placing uncritical reliance on the information coming from any single group of participants in a conflict (violent or not) may not lead to a realistic summary of the situation for those elsewhere in the world. That makes me sound critical of this individual, but I'm not - more of an overview on the part of the international news organisations would place this sort of report in context. No-one wears a white hat in a civil war.
