Now (with a prime) the OMD feels like a real camera!

It does look great in B&W but the vintage look of your color shot seems better for my eyes. Maybe a light tone sepia will be nice as well.

Black and white from the Oly looks stunning IMO and I'll probably upload a couple of conversions to the gallery later that I was messing around with earlier today.

I was blown away by the out of camera colour and I'm not really a colour person! It's quite saturated but not in the way the X100 was when I had it ... or my D700 for that matter.

Here's a version of that same pic converted to black and white and cropped slightly. The shadows are pretty deep and the highlights quite extreme but that's the way it looked in reality and considering it's shot at ISO 3200 with noise reduction and filtering turned off in the camera it's impressive IMO.

It's not very often I prefer a shot in colour to black and white but in this case I agree with you ... which is why I initially posted the colour image.

And 'vintage' is a good description IMO.

Looks like folks are ready on give up on film and FF sensors. Could one five years ago believe m43 sensor wrapped by modern body will deliver what kept you shooting film?

It's screaming out for the grip Keith!

And the good news is I rang Camera Pro where I got the OMD from and they can have a grip for me in a couple of days.

The other thing I want to get is the OM to MFT adapter. I was looking at the 135mm f2.8 Zuiko I have in the cupboard and thinking! On the OMD that's a fairly fast 270mm for annoying the wildlife ... or whatever! :D

And ... the battery grip finally arrived to day and I have to say I'm a little underwhelmed.

With just the grip fiitted it enhances the handling markedly and makes the camera look very balanced and feels so. Add the battery pack on top of that and it becomes a bit of a monster IMO!

Not that I'm suggesting the battery back and added advantage of the extra shutter release for comfortable portait orientation shooting isn't worthwhile ... I just don't think it does much for the dainty looks of the little Oly.

Finally I had yesterday the possibility to have this camera in my hands in a shop. Unfortunately there were other clients waiting and I did not like to disturb them but I'll go back in a couple of
days. I was very impressed by the VF. Really an interesting camera...and interesting lenses....
