Nude Self Portraits

Stephenie,

I just checked the Gallery. You used to have a few pictures posted there - I remember the one of your feet dangling over water.

I don't see any listings now at all under your name.

Why?

I don't know. I don't mind that, though, because I'm going to rescan all my stuff when the Scan Dual III comes next week (or the week after with how the postal service is). They're up at the gallery in my sig, though.

Steph ... Ever think of using a soft focus lens? I don't know if you could find one cheap ... but that or a good diffusion filter could make lighting less of an issue

its just another suggestion in terms of diversity

last month there was an article on soft focus lenses in Shutterbug ... pretty interesting

Here it is ... http://www.shutterbug.net/techniques/pro_techniques/0106softfocus/index.html

I will tomorrow have a posting about self-portraits of myself. Will I get many views?
Sure, I'll read it. But, to answer your film and lighting questions... for best results...

When you look like S. Brim - use great lights and the best film.
When you look like CVBLZ4, Byuphoto or raid - use no lights and no film.

I think my one problem is that I live in a very tiny town with little or no jobs available and I have no license to drive anywhere. If I'd get my license or move out of this town things would be better for me, but it goes right back around to the fact that most of my money is going out to bills. I can't really get a decent job because I don't have a college degree and I have a GED to prove my education - people seem to take that into consideration and don't hire me for jobs I'm rather qualified to do. I can't get an education if I can't pay for said education. I can't pay for said education if I can't make the money to pay the bills. I can't pay the bills if I can't make money. It's a vicious circle and I *am* finding it hard to get out of it.

I'll get out slowly. I probably won't buy anything for quite a while. I'm going to start learning how to drive very soon. I really don't know what I'm going to do. It is apparent that I'm not an idiot, but lots of people are treating me as such. People here have given me a well-needed step in the right direction by caring about me enough to help me through this time. I think this is why I haven't gone insane yet.

I can't rant like everyone else?

Maybe I should just leave?

Maybe I should just stop thinking altogether?

I thought this forum was made up of people who were better than this. Maybe I was wrong.

Or maybe you're just enjoying the game?

Or maybe I just needed to let off steam.

I don't play games. You, on the other hand, apparently like to. Play on your own.

The Shutterbug article is bound to give me some great ideas. 🙂 Thanks.

I'll repeat without the chorus:

Or maybe you're just enjoying the game?

Disappearing Gallery posts.

In and out of the site.

Plaintive pleas for assistance.

Claims of poverty followed by reports of gear bought.

etc. etc.

Girl (?) you are either in need of some serious help or are one hell of a GAMER.

Right girl (?)

Hey, I resemble that remark.
I think everyone should just lighten up and let it go

ok, sounds like a good time to end this.

stephanie, if you want more advice on how to light for a nude you can start another thread.

for cheap psychological advice, this is for everyone, i suggest you talk with lucy from the peanuts cartoon.

and gents...would this thread have been this long if me or raid or any other GUY had started it?
just a question that i have no desire to hear an answer to.

good night, i'm here all week...

joe
