Yup, I was going to say Pete Souza. The opening is tomorrow evening and a few other notables should be there. I was supposed to be going but have to stick around Philly for work.
For other happenings in the art scene, pick up a copy of the recent New Yorker. It always has a good listing of art events and showings around the city.

I think the Elilot Erwitt show is at the ICP 'til the end of August. I'm going to *try* to make it on my next trip to NYC, though I'm afraid I'm already double-booked for all the hours I'm there.

not to hijack your thread, but anything else that's already open? I'm going this weekend, and was thinking of stopping by ICP for the Elliot Erwitt show.

Go to DUMBO in Brooklyn to stop by power house bookstore. Small galleries in SOHO and other villages you can just walk around and stumble upon. Might even capture some nice street scenes.

The Elliott Erwitt show at the International Center of PHotography is a great show. I did not realize how many photos I know were taken by him.

Paul: If your interested in a RFF meetup, let us know when you'll be in town and we can schedule our monthly get together to coincide. The place we regularly meet is walking distance from Tribeca.

Hey, so I got back today, saw some great stuff.
First went to the Leica Gallery with my friend and saw Pete Souza's work in print which was nice (so used to seeing it on flickr). Then we went down to the Jen Bekman gallery and saw that show, which was small but very nicely laid out...and later on I stopped inside the Steven Kasher Gallery, which had photos by Ryan McGinley and Justine Kurland and MANY others, definitely worth stopping in. It's in Chelsea.
