New York NYC August Meet-Up

WOW.

A Leica garage sale. I counted my cameras: I only have 15: 5 135 rangefinders; 5 135 SLR's; and 5 medium format. All get used. No shelf queens in my herd.

Since I have the MM, I did not shoot a single roll of film and I can not imagine going back.
So I bring all 3 (M6 w. MP finder, M3 DAG overhauled, MP w.TA rapidwinder) and if they get picked up then fate will have it that film is not for me;)

NYC August Meet-Up

Have a great weekend gents (and perhaps ladies). I'd be there if I wasn't at a wedding.

The celebration's at a summer camp in North Carolina and tomorrow there's going to be a 'color war' (a-la Holi Festival). I brought the GL690 but will need to buy a filter if I'm going to take it into the fray...

I know what you mean, since I purchased the M8 I haven't used
any film cameras for months, I have one Olympus, three Contax's
and my Nikon S3 just sitting there (crying?).

My motto is to do the opposite of what others are doing. I'm still mostly shooting digitally, but I still am shooting all my film cameras. I have about 100 rolls of film to develope. I'm presently experimenting with developers and intend on using Rodinal and Microphen. Bought some Delta 400 to try.

My problem is that I have too many negatives, so I might as well make more. For me it would be dumb to abandon something I started. Also I kinda love my film cameras, too much to sell them.

Digital can make you lazy; digital is easier and less work; and now that I'm printing digitally it might make sense to quit analog and just concentrate on pure digital, but something like grief or loss prevents me from making the jump.

My problem is that I like my cameras so much that I'm willing to do the sweatshop labour of scanning 200 rolls of film like I did a two months ago. I haven't sleeved and filed them yet. That is the real labour of love.

Sorry folks, got a cold. Not a good idea to speard the bug around at the round table. No Leica M garage sale tomorrow. Have fun and don't catch anything but interesting scenes with your cameras. Cheers
