Alrighty. So I'll be visiting NYC from the 11th (arriving in the morning) to the 14th (leaving in the afternoon). I'll be staying in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. I am primarily interested in eating, drinking, and photography. Not too interested in touristy things (been there twice before), but I do plan on going to the Brooklyn Art Museum/Botanical Gardens. Anyone know of anything else cool that I must see in/near my neighborhood? Any good places to eat/drink (love microbrews and dive bars) that you recommend? Mostly looking for Brooklyn suggestions, but I'll travel to Manhattan (or one of the other buroughs of NYC) for something really cool. Thanks in advance.

Maybe you'll run into the OHD! (Original Hipster Doofus) Also, be sure to check out Michael Scott's favorite classic pizza establishment, a little hole in the wall called Sbarro.

I think there's an Atget show at moma as well–yep, just checked. It's on 'til the 9th of April. Man I'm bummed that I probably won't get down before it closes.
EDIT: Ha, you beat me by the second it took to make sure it wasn't closed yet.

I'll see if I can finagle to get down there on the 24th. It's funny though–I used to drive down & back from Boston every Saturday, no sweat, but now it just feels like such a haul.

Hmm, maybe not worth it then.

I got a temporary membership guest pass to the Brooklyn Rod & Gun club that my friend Paul gave me. He's a bouncer there, but if you mention me I'm sure both you and your wife will both get in. Just PM me your address and I'll send you the pass.
Don't be fooled by the name its basically a musician hangout bypassing needing a liquor license by being a private club. Location is 59 Kent Ave. Williamsburg right along the waterfront almost under the Williamsburg Bridge.

Okay, so weird question... I'm going to be in NYC tomorrow for the Pulp show at Radio City Music Hall. I'm going to be carrying a Canon QL19 rangefinder loaded with Tri-X for the day, but I'm worried that with RCMH's strict no-photography policy that I won't be allowed in. Since my temporary residence is in Brooklyn, I'd prefer not to do a round-trip there and back to drop off the camera. Are there any storage lockers near RCMH? Any way that you guys can see around the "no-photography" policy? The camera is a bit large to stick in my pants...
Are you sure you cannot get it inside? I don't know of RCMH having a strict policy at all... since it is a tourist destination.

Head to the Brooklyn Brewery in Williamsburg on Friday evening. They open it up and you can get cheap draft beer and meet some cool folks!
