Usually we hold the regular monthly meetings downstairs at the round table with the cool lightbulb. It's cozy but not bad because we usually only get eight or nine folks there. It's not like the February beauty contest.

Phil,
A while back though we kinda had a flash mob happen at Harlem Public. The Jersey boys outnumbered the New Yorkers at that event.
As far as other locations go Puck Fair is really great because the noise level is usually just us and we don't have to compete with the sports crowd or music.

Yes, this Sunday at 1:00 at Puck fair.
Unfortunately I won't make it because I'm travelling
Cal , I love the stories from the 70s and 80s but I really want to see the photos (I'm imagining bangs and bouffant hairstyles, shoulder pads , spandex and leotards, chevrolet caprice , gritty streets .. all in tri-x)
I did get mugged myself , here in Kolkata , for the first time ever, by 3 ladies as it happens . True story and I loved it (only cost me $9)

P,
Bad things can happen at any time. LOL. Its funny how life is so full of surprises. I actually find life interesting because I have experienced rapture several times. In a way these times are a heightened reality, almost like theater, and are strongly remembered.
Unfortunately I have had a very disrupted life that involves lots of personal struggle, and part of this struggle involves loosing all the negatives from the seventies and eighties. My ex wife had me get rid of a lot of great art photography that involved nude women that I had ravished. Another girlfriend had me get rid of a decade of negatives when I was married.
Truth be told is that today I'm a much better photographer doing much more interesting work. I think I only have one 11x14 B&W print from the late 70's. It is a night shot taken with a Nikon F2, but it shows that I went to art school and learned how to make a nice print with good tonality way back in 1978.
I'll bring this vintage print to the next meet-up that you can make.
