New York NYC photos - first batch (sort of)

Instead of just posting a load of touristy snapshots of NYC, I thought it better to group them thematically. First them: NYC fire escapes. I know, not the most likely theme but I like those fire escapes.

Check my _NYC fire escape photos_ on my blog.

I'll post more themed photos in the days to come. 😀

Remy,
Good work! I do like the shot with the red sign with chinese(?) characters along the fire escape. Checked out your blog entries about the trip--rest up if you can after that whirlwind tour!
All that amazing variety of food in NYC and you had a meal(sort of) at applebees? 🙁 (Sorry about that. I'm not a fan of chain restaurants--factory food I call 'em)
You got to spend some time with distant family and take some good photos so the rest doesn't matter so much!

Applebee's? With all the great restaurants and cheap varied ethnic foods in the East Village, you eat at Applebee's and McDonalds? For shame!

Guess there's no accounting for tastes! 🙄

Next time he visits we'll have to give him restaurant recommendations instead of ideas on shooting venues! 😉

Well, to be fair, I had no idea where to eat, so George's idea is quite a good one. 🙂

I did get a few eating suggestions but with only 2 and a half day in NYC and a ton of things to see, I didn't mind going to Times Square and eat at Applebee's or Chevy's. Chain stores, yes, but the food was rather good. If I ever go to NYC for a longer period (stranger things have happened, like missing my flight from Delhi and having to spend another 2 weeks on top of 5 in India, or finding the woman of my life 8000km from home in Mongolia) I'll try to spend some more time finding and visiting other restaurants. 🙂

RML the third picture down in NYC gallery has such great color...The kind of representation of metal and concrete that i feel looks real and tangible. Just what i need another reason to lust after an Epson.

RML,

Fire escapes are one of our favorites...Now I'm working on "working bicycles" and hope to also one day do water towers....

I have to admit that the first post was an old SLR pic.

Here are a few more recent RF's - with the caveat that the last one is NOT a fire escape - but otherwise "fits" the mold....

Oh, and these are scanned film images....
