NYC Trayvon Martin Protest

Sanford is 12 miles from me. My mom was from there. But I had not photographed anything there as it did not fit into what I was doing. But when they marched in nearby South Apopka, a community I have been documenting for about 7 years, I did attend and photograph. I know many of the people in these photos.

Interesting pictures and story, many thanks for sharing.

I'm completely treasuring the unexpected phrase 'I had to get home to medicate an ailing rabbit'...

Thanks!
By the way, here's a photo of Maya and Ollie (from left.) Maya is the sick rabbit with Dilated Cardio Miopathy. The condition cause her body to allow fluid to build up in her lungs and it was caught by her "mom," my friend Kate. (Kate's on vacation so I'm taking care of the rabbits whom I dearly love.) We got the DCM under control but Maya needs medication twice daily for the rest of her life.

If anyone in the NYC area would like any information about adopting a rabbit, feel free to get a hold of me through PM. I volunteer with the rabbit rescue through the NYC Animal Care and Control center in east Harlem.

Nice work there, but I don't get why people in New York are protesting an event in Florida?

"No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee."
