NYT: iPhone photojournalism

I love taking photos with my iPhone. I've played around with a lot of the apps mentioned in that article.

However, I'm wondering how much of this is a passing fad. Specifically I'm referring to the whole Hipstamatic/Instagram look (you know... that fake retro look with off colors and film scratches). I've seen Hipstamatic photo galleries on the NY Times, NPR and a lot of other mainstream news outlets. In it a away it already seems dated.

That being said, the best camera is one you have with you. So snap away...

This is one of the lead newspaper in Poland - "Rzeczpospolita".
I know his (Kuba Kamiński) pictures, I know reality on photo agency and I was really surprised when I saw this article/pictures. This was half year ago.
This is really interesting, strong photojournalist gives iPhone photos to editor and they print it on weekend paper.

Why interesting? Proffessional photographer gives iPhone photos to print and he named it "IPHONE". Is it "cult" or sign to younger people - "Hey, you can do it". It is my question.
