NYT: Pogue reviews NEX-5

A panorama, merely by sweeping the camera? Now that's something that caught my attention..

Yes, the feature is called Sweep Panorama, and it is also found in at least one of Sony's recent point & shoot cameras. It also caught my attention (I haven't tried it), but somehow stitched panoramic pictures, not matter how easy to produce, just don't appeal to me philosophically.

But this is coming from a guy who currently doesn't own a digital camera, and just bought a Hasselblad Xpan...

It sounds like a good deal for the money; it just doesn't sound like it quite hits the spot for easily accessible controls. I get the feeling that it is not intended as an attempt to get film rangefinder users to switch to a Sony digital, though.

I agree... but they will bring out better models within the next 6 months.

This is enough to hold me off from getting a 4/3rds. The adapter for M-lenses will make or break the deal for me.
