I have had this book for a few weeks now and am very slowly going through it. Each page seems to offer a rich description, via words or pictures, of a certain point in time and space. I cant wait to hear some more of the audio recordings Smith made: not just of the jazz rehearsals, but conversations, radio/tv shows, sounds of movement and activity: all very interesting from a documentary and historical point of view. Highly recommended.
