New Zealand: 3 weeks, backpack, 60 rolls of slide film, which set up?
1- Leica M6, 24mm/3.4 Elmar-M Asph, 35/2 Biogon, 75/4 Tele-Tessar.
2- Contax G2, 21/2.8 Biogon G, 45/2.0 Planar G, 90/2.8 Sonnar G
3- Contax G1.
Maybe mix and match, iif 2 different systems' bodies?

Keep it small and light - if you are staying in backpackers , there is no security so you will want to carry your camera gear at all times.

Some of the panoramas you see will be really wide :
When I was last there, I made more use of a Ricoh GRDII stitching frames for wide shots that my M6,18mm,50mm which I also carried.

Since the weight looks comparable, do you want to have more control (M6) or less fuss (G2)?

Based on your superb Contax landscape images on the forum, I'd want you to take the G2 (ha ha). How many of those are focused at infinity? If the answer is "many" or "most," how would the M6/RF focusing be any advantage?

Good luck, enjoy. NZ is a lot like the PNW.

Actually, for the landscape shots I use the hyperfocal distance most often . I memorized the hyperfocal distance table for the apertures I use most, and they're easy to set with G2. I might take hybrid set:
G2, 21/2.8, 90/2.8 for general landscape and grab shots.
M6, 24, 35. For more meditative images.

I travel with 21/50/90 or 21/35/90 so the spread on the G2 would give you just a bit more flexibility over the Leica. The lens quality of both systems is probably equal so it comes down to which system do you like the best.
