So... measure two meters and then at an angle of 30 degrees, focus at two meters?

30 degrees is one meter up (or to the side) and then the distance to the target is not 2m but 2.236 meters. Wha?

Maybe I just got lucky but two cameras and my laser range finder agree that when it's set to 2m it's actually 2m and that other distance is something else.

What am I doing wrong? Calibrating wrong, or is my mistake: reading the instructions?

Set your camera on a tripod pointed down at the requisite angle and measure two meters from the sensor plane to the target. Move the target or tripod or both till you have both the distance and angle correct
