Off on vacation!

Just checking in from Antigonish, Nova Scotia. First hotel with internet access. Having a good time, taking lots of shots. The over night train from Montreal to Moncton NB was brutal - ended up sleeping on the floor in the lounge car (and I wasn't even drinking!) Drove the Cabot Trail including a trip to northern most Meat Cove - spectacular! Have been using the 35mm lens most on the M6. A few times the CV25 lens came in handy. Battery died in the Minilux but that was my fault for not changing it out before leaving. Hope tp find a store that carries lithium cells in a day or 2. Catching a ferry to PEI tomorrow and settling down at a cottage for a week. Looking forward to not so much driving for a while. Catch up with you later!

Have a great vacation and please post a trip report when you return. I am thinking about a vacation trip to Canada later this fall and am very intrested in visiting the Halifax area. 😀

I got back Thursday from my two weeks in Nova Scotia. It wasn't really a vacation, but I shot two rolls of Neopan Acros and about 100 frames of digital.
I'll have to soup the Acros this weekend.

The bridge goes from New Brunswick. Frank would have to drive about 600kms to get to it from Cape Breton.

Well, that's a relief. I thought maybe somebody had sold it and it was in a mall in Saudi Arabia or something.

Frank: Welcome "back" to the Forum. I hope that your vacation plans are working out as planned. [what does PEI stand for?]

I can just see Frank on the beach after about a dozen Keith's singin' "Im Bud the Spud from the bright red mud".....
Enjoy, Frank, I'm off to Mrytle Beach this Sat. I've been advised to find the darkest sunglasses I can so my wife can't see what I'm looking at on the beach....sounds like my kind of vacation!

Raid,
Prince Edward Island. I took a wonderful vacation in 1978 via motorcycle to Nova Scotia and PEI. Met some great folks and ate some of the best seafood of my life. Shot 10 rolls of film in3 weeks. This was before r/fs however.

Enjoy the time off, Frank. It must have been quite a mental exercise which cameras to settle on. I really would like to haul them all (which is why I have them). How did you do it? Eenie-Meenie-Miney-Moe? Sometimes I have to do that, even when I'm already "packed".

Last thing that worked for me (other than weight consideration) is settling on "a look". You shed a lot of gear that way. But I don't like being cornered into one thing either...

Have fun, o wise 1 🙂

Thanks for the clarification, Richard.
I once did [as a student] a trip through Canada, and maybe it is time to travel there again. I went back to visit relatives in Toronto, but that's it for Canada.
