Hi everyone,

Can one of you tell me if Leica makes an off-hot-shoe cable for a Leica flash?

I have a lot of experience using them on Nikon SLRs but never on RF. I have a shot in mind that would require me to fire a flash above and to the left of a moving subject and this cable would allow me to hold the flash in one hand and the camera in the other.

Any thoughts? And please don't tell me to use available light, I want this shot with a flash. Thanks much.

Nikon synch chords will work. I used an SC17 (I think) with M6TTL and SF20 plenty. No problems aside from trying to juggle flash unit, shutter release and focusing with only two hands!

x2. When I shot weddings with a pair of TTL's, I kept the SF-20 with the SC17 attached on my belt so no matter which body I had I could just attach the cord and shoot. Worked a treat.

With a bit of soldering you could also use a telephone reciever cable and an old short flash cable.

Edit: I read a bit about TTL and I think this does not apply here. I use this setup for a normal flash connection, but not for TTL flash. Sorry for the noise.

Wouldn't you get an engaged tone from the flash?

John

This is happening indeed. Can come in handy, but handling the reciever is a bit annoying. My choice are head phones connected directly to the cable with a fork to the flash sync socket. So you do not actually just see, but also hear the flash. Sometimes I am carrying a portable guitar amplifyer around my neck just for an artistic effect. You should see the faces of the subjects in the photographs! Good for street!

Thanks

Thanks

Hi everyone, thanks very much for the info on the SC17 and the SF20 flash, I'll get both and give it a go. Does the M6TTL sync to 250th/sec?

Have a terrific weekend!
