My late model M8 is preparing to make the pilgrimage back to Solms to replace a defect in the sensor that developed a year from purchase. Both Leica and Robert White have so far been very very helpful in getting the problem sorted out.

Kinda bummed to see this happen, but at least it was under warranty!

I've asked for the M8.2 recovering. It seems like it's a better look and a better grip. Not griptac, mind you, but better than the M8 classic. Would other people agree?
 
sensor developed a white line running vertically in the lower half of the frame slightly to the right of the center (there is a thread in the M8 reported problems section). It wasn't there when new, and is totally unlike the red line problem I've seen on early M8s. Looks to me like the problem is related to a dead pixel that developed near the upper terminus of the line, but what do I know?
