Hi all, I'm off tomorrow for a week in the Lake District in Cumbria in England, the weather forcast is snow, sleet, wind so should get some good stuff.

Going to take my shiny new CV Bessa L from the focus on inaging show + CV15, 21 and 28 Skopar and Leica M +35, 50, 90 to catch the vews.

The bags are packed, Velvia 50 and Velvia 100 are the general camera food with plenty of FP4 and HP5 n Delta to work with as well for snacks, cant find a processor for my AGFA Scala film so that stays at home.

Looking forward to shareing the results, if they are any good. For SLR stuff I'm Taking some pixels with me (D70) as a back up to the old F80 n F65. My old MF buddy Bronica ETRS will be retrieved from retirement also for the less energetic amblings.

See ya all in a week! Have fun 🙂

Have fun. I wish I was going, I need a break. Still I'm taking the narrowboat out for nearly a week at the end of the month around the Birmingham system on it's pre season run in. Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kim: You have a narrowboat? Kewl! Do you know Graham Battison? He has lots of yummy shots of narrowboats in Northamptonshire

Hi Earl,
I have my own boat but I rarely get to take it out as my son has "borrowed" it to live on at university. It's the blue one below. (quick shot to test an Orion 15).

The one I am taking out belongs to the Airbase I work at anfd I an responsible for running it. I have attached a couple of shots I took for the brochure around the "ring" I will be doing. Half is the the old industrial heart of Birmingham and the other half through the county side.

Tony, have a great time! Is there a Nessie equivalent up that way?

Best Regards,

Bill Mattocks
Bill I can speak for Tony on that one. A Nessie hasn't shown up, I think the lakes are a bit shallow for that kind of creature. However that doesn't necessarily mean that there isn't one there - maybe there is and he's just a bit shy. 😉 It's a beautiful part of England though and as a lad from the north-west myself I do envy Tony his trip.

Don't forget db5 for your Scala - or just process as normal black and white. Astia would be good for lots of snow shots too.

Have fun - have just got back from the Lakes yesterday - stayed near Rydal Water. It's very quiet at the moment.

Kim, not to steal Fred's thread, but I'm fascinated that normal people own narrowboats - I never thought about it before! They are much more appealing than the typical US pleasure boat - and the canals!

I think I need to get up your way on my next UK trip and investigate!

Give us a shout if you come over and we will see what can be organised. Hopefully I will get the use of my boat back after the summer when my son finishs at college.
