Well, as a friend of mine says: "Value is remembered long after price is forgotten." So I think a M9 is totally worth it.

Come on... just think of it i terms of dollars saved on film rolls... that should be ...er... 3,000 rolls or so and then it's be amortized!

Congratulations! When I handed over the cash for my M9, I felt like my guts dropped out of my a$$. Three months and four hours of shooting with it every day later, I was in Japan and taking some of the best photos I'd ever taken in my life. The M9 is a doorway into joy.
I hope you end up loving it.
