Leica LTM OH NO! IIIF Shutter won't close

So I have a nice IIIF RD ST that I've had for awhile and it's always worked flawlessly. Been shooting it recently and when I developed the last roll of Pan F today the roll was black. Took the lens off and fired the shutter and the shutter stays open. Shutter closes when I wind it, but when you trip the shutter button the shutter opens and stays opened until you wind on. Suppose it's off to DAG but any suggestions?

Do you have the front speed dial set to "T"? That will make it stay open till you wind the film

My guess is that debris is jamming the second curtain, or that the ribbons holding the second curtain on have become detached. Either way it's coming apart.

It could be a film chip caught in the shutter. Happened to me once with a IIIf.

I looked for a film chip and also used compressed air to blow it out. I’m afraid something has come loose; a ribbon or the curtain itself.
