Sold as a Leica M film Cassette. Is it a Bulk loader ? But has ASA/DIN dials, frame counter ? And also looks like has a lens mount, AND a shutter release. So...is this a camera ? Slide dupicator ?

Item # 180286405094 on EBay.

Subhash😱

I have no idea what it is, but it's the best one I've ever seen...

FYI- I doubt that's a shutter release button- more likely a release to allow the rewind. I don't think there's a shutter- or a lens mount- on that thing. I suspect it's an attachment for shooting pictures through a microscope or some other optical device...

An instrumentation camera-back of some sort ? It seems to have a dark-slide rather than a shutter for example, and the film-transport looks to be via one of the large dogs at the take-up end of the camera, with a manual rewind key.

EDIT: Drew has the same idea at the same time. Interesting bit of kit though.

That does look like the simple film transport housing made for the Universal Camera Attachment for Leitz microscopes from the early 70s. Since focusing was through the microscope and the attachment had its own leaf shutter, one could use this simple film transport as well as a Leica M, a Leicaflex, a large format film transport, or a Polaroid back with the right adapter.

Yup, it's a microscope camera as already noted. I've got one that I want to make (non-destructively of course) into a pinhole camera at some stage. 😀

And to really get geeky here, I just looked at my Laney's Leica Collectors Guide where it lists a catalog number of 543077 for it. Figuring out old Leica stuff is sometimes just fun. I really need to go out and take pictures.
