Wow! Haunting shot of the girl's veiled eyes. Can you fill us in how you took this? Where, how, in what circumstances? Very nice.

May be a stupid question, but how do some folks go beyond thumbnails and post large inserts of their photos on this blog? I don't see how, unless they are direct links to some web page.
Please advise.
(And if it is a website, which ones are folks using?)

No 1 looks like it was chiseled out of granite--awesome! Did you crop it?
Thanks,

Thanks Mr Ho. I was having tea with her father in a small muslim fishing village outside Vizhinjam in southern India when she glanced through the half closed shutter of their house to see who the guest was. You can see her father reflected in her pupils. I managed to get fairly close with a 45mm before she scarpered.
Thanks Bill and dnemoc for your interest. Bill, this was cropped as probably as much as 50%; I think there is probably a limit to how close you can get in some situations.
Anyway, as I said before there are some really great photographs in this thread.

And some more:
Guilty admission: these were taken with an SLR. I used my FM3a for these shots usually because the min focus distance of a rangefinder is often to large for the way I like to shoot. I think the film for most of them was Fuji Neopan Presto and one was Fuji SS.

Nice photos the_jim. The one of the boy is poignant. The close-up of the sleeping man's feet is different and interesting.

All from Japan. Mostly Sapporo.

Cool shots Stuart. I like the last one (in Shinjuku, right?). It captures one those weird social aspects of Japan: older boys openly dating young girls. If this happened in my hometown, the boy might find himself on the uncomfortable side of her father's rifle. Well, maybe...
