ok to like soft corners?

When I first got into digital in 2007--after a nearly 20 year hiatus from anything but P&S photography--I sort of got caught up in the measurebator/pixel-peeper syndrome but as I've progressed and/or matured I've come to see the real character and beauty of partially OOF shots. Not for everyone or for every shot but for some pictures it's the only way to go. This post from DPReview shows some photos taken with an old Astro Berlin lens--to me they are almost magical...
