This M8 is the best collimation tool for LTM lenses that I can think of. I love it. Just collimated one of the sharpest Jupiter-3's that I've ever seen. It's F1.5 is about the same as F4 on a lot of my others. Just could not nail the focus with film and the scanner the way I just did with the M8. Changed the shim by 0.05mm, and could set it to minimize the focus shift going from F1.5 to F4.
This M8 is the best friend that a J-3 could have.

No, Brian, you MUST be wrong. Everyone knows the M8 is the worst camera Leica ever made, and completely useless.
(Odd that so many people don't agree, as long as they (a) own one and (b) take pictures with it.)
I have to try my M9 on my MIKAS...
Cheers,
R.

I was wrong once. I thought I had made a mistake, but I hadn't.
I'll be using this M8, and move to an M9 when the time is right. Let it mature a bit.

Problems aside (and I am experiencing one now), it is awesome--I love to use it.

1953 KMZ Jupiter-3 on the M8 today, did well in the cold. I'm tired after keeping up with Nikki!

This is the lens shimmed with the M8, was able to adjust the shim to optimize for the focus shift between F1.5 and F4.

Vivere!
Brian, did I hear bonfire, beer, brauts, a pot of baked beans, and smores? Now there's a chance to run the M8 through it's paces.
