Very nice pictures.
Thank you!
But there are "comparable" cameras ! They are even VERY comparable

True, you can still get the old ones. But, at least in the US, you can't get the batteries for them anymore.

Wonderful pictures maggieo! I had my Canonet CLA'd by Essex Camera and they did an excellent job. Send them an email with the details of what you want done. I've since sold mine on but that f1.7 lens was excellent and I've taken some great pictures with it.
Old pictures are so much fun. I recently unearthed a box of stuff from the attic that's very interesting and some are hilarious. Great for the kids to see too!

Cool, I'll drop them a line!
Oh, and I immediately sent my niece an email notifying her that I'd posted a photo of her she'll probably want to see...

Well, have a look at what I'm using:
Not really cheap, but if you have a few classic cameras that use these (OM-1, Canonet, and some, I guess), you can find these here:
Adapter: http://cgi.ebay.de/Batterie-Adapter...zubehör_PM&hash=item4aa0fc8592#ht_3046wt_1004

These cameras are too nice to sit still; because of your messages and pictures, I just woke up one of my Canonets again

Hooray for the old cameras. My first 35mm was as Retina 1a purchased in 1967 for $40. I still have it and it still gives good results. A Miranda SLR came along in 1969. That was traded for an SRT101. It was finally CLAed five years ago and it is still going strong after thirty six years. I went digital with a D90 last year but I suspect the D90 will be good for about ten years and after that Nikon will no longer support it. The 1a and SRT will be operational until I die or the Lord comes back, which ever is first.
Hooray for the old cameras!!
