Many images here from 1953, same year my late Father bought my Zeiss Super Ikonta C in Germany on his way to Italy for vacation.

Great images from your late father. He was in the right place at the right time to capture those images.

I am in Florence, Italy right now, and those pics reflect a past that no longer applies. Italy today is more like US, minus the landscape and the country side, in terms of work ethics and lifestyle than the old cliche' that we have learnt to love about Italy through movies and such. I grew up here in Tuscany, and I can tell you that the rat race we have to experience in the US is even more accentuated here than back home.
