Hi,

I'll be developing Adox films in T-max developer, lacking another developer agent.

I have mainly adox ART line (CHS 25/50/100), which is -as I assume- an old school type of film comparible, if not identical to EFKE KB films.

I also use some adox PRO line (CHM 400), which is told to be similar to Ilford film type.

What will the T-max developer do to these lines of film? I expect good results on teh PRO line, but will I get any results on the ART line? Or am I set for disaster?

What developer should I take, lacking good old Rodinal?

Groeten,
Vic

You take me back to the early 1960s, Vic, when we used KB14 and developed it either in Promicrol (slight speed increase) or the soup we made up, a straight MQ one probably not much different from D76. I'd advise you to try a test roll before doing any important pictures. Good luck.

TMax or TMAx RS (they are not the same) will both work fine. You may need to dilute 1+7 or 1+9 to get long enough times to get good consistency, but that's no problem. I have worked at a Pro Lab where everything was processed in replenished TMax RS and given care it works well with all films. Xtol is better, in my opinion, but you'll do fine with TMAx.
