Hi all,
I bought an old Paterson slide viewer for my little ones a few months ago (2 and 4) to get them interested in film photography. I had to retrofit it with a white LED for the image to be clear and visible in the daylight, but otherwise it has been a huge success.
The viewer came with a bunch of old promotional slides and I have also added a bunch from my own archive (those shots that are not good enough to keep in the collection but you always end up keeping for whatever reason!). But the kids have gone through all of them many times and are asking for more.
Do you know by any chance a place where I can buy or pick up some old slides for cheap? I live in the Netherlands. Or if you are somewhere close in Europe and you want to get rid of some old stuff, I may be able to help you with that! I haven’t been very successful with local pawn shops, etc...
I know it is a strange problem to have, but that’s exactly why I ask the question here!

Ask some of your friends if they have digitalized their slides and want to get rid of them. I've been given some carousel trays that way. Also, Junk shops that sell boxes of stuff and also have the owner see if he will keep an eye open for slides.

Ebay, quite surprisingly. I've seen in second hand stores as charjohncarter has said.

My son-in-law's father gave me a box of camera stuff the he bought at a swap meet (do you have swap meets near you?) for $2. In it was also one of those old metal boxes full of slides. Some pretty racey.

I have been looking in the junk shops with little success. I don’t really get the Dutch mood when it comes to buying and selling. They don’t really have a second-hand market for most stuff. While Kijiji is a Dutch platform, the same site doesn’t work reasonably locally (called marktplaats).
As for eBay, if you find a posting, keep me informed.
Here is the little one getting introduced to the analogue photography techniques:
