Old Summicron 35 on R-D1

...But it has a much, much smoother out of focus rendering than the 35/1.4, with less flaring, wider fov, and about same size. But 1 stop slower.
You does not mean the CV 35/1.4 SC i guess. The latter has the same smooth bokeh as the Summilux 35/1.4 pre-asph, with even more flare though and some disturbing focus shift at f/2.8 and on.

I have the Zeiss 35mm f/2.0 Biogon T* and the Voigtlander 35mm f/1.2 Nokton. My favorite lens on the RD1 is the Zeiss. After shooting with a Leica 28mm f/2.8 ASPH I always wanted a 35 Summilux or a Summicron.

I meant the Summicron has those qualities I've described, opposed to the CV 34/1.4 SC which flares more, has focus shift (but I confess it was never an issue to me) and has a slightly ighter field of view. I've compared the out of focus areas of the Summicron 35 v4, the Nokton 35/1.4 and the Nokton 35/1.2, the 1.4's is the less smooth of them. Don't get me wrong, it's a great lens, but it's just that these two are smoother.
