Oleg is not responding at all

I bought several parts from him, and a spare parts camera. Never had problems with his service, delivery or communication. The last time he was out of reach (a year or more ago), it was for a personal matter. I believe he is still a trustworthy person.

Agreed. What the hell is the deal around here lately with people assuming the worst about anyone they deal with? Life happens. We're not talking about someone who is running a full-time, full-service business.

What a bunch of shallow jerks some of you are. Grow up and realize there are 6 billion other people in the world, and it doesn't revolve around your $50 camera.

Yeah, that was me. Lots of people have had good experiences with him, and he did surgery on my camera and shipped it quickly. But it just isn't usable as is...

Sorry but when someone is giving their HARD earned money to a person for goods or sevices should that someone not expect the person providing the service or goods to be profesional when running a buisness part time or otherwise and returning e-mail or phone calls in a reasonable time frame.
After 8 weeks should his buisness practices not get called in to question?

I particularly checked this with Oleg before I placed the order. He told me the light meter works well. He even told me not to worry about it in the future since he has got some good selenium cells on hand to replace.
 
FWIW - I've had the pleasure of doing business with Oleg for nearly 10 years now, and have never been disappointed. Unless he has CLA'd a camera, (and charged you for it), he doesn't run film through it. Hell, of all the fsu cameras I've owned (6-8), most leaked light. No big deal...it's half the fun.
 
Oleg is honorable and reliable. (Dobryi chelovyek!) I have had a Kiev 2 and 3a cleaned etc. by him. Both came back smooth, but with light leaks. I sent them back; he fixed the light leaks; they came back to me and work fine. He's a straight shooter. If there is a problem, somehting out of the ordinary has come up.

I don't need your purchase details: I don't intend to call him on your behalf: I just wanted to say he may not speak English as well as he types (quoting Oleg). Please let us know how you go.
 
Finally a good news here -- I got the response from Oleg !!

One RFF member recently got in contact with Oleg and encouraged me to try sending the email once more. One day later I got the reply from Oleg. It turned out that perhaps his previous reply did not get through. He is now offering a partly refund or sending the new selenium cells to me. This is fair enough, I believe.

I will choose to receive the new cells. Once I actually get it, I will update you here in this thread.
