When Oleg states a camera as 'Very Good' or 'Good' it means how it operates .
This is such a refreshing change from the majority of sellers from the area .
He serviced 2x fake Leicas for me .
To be frank , I anticipated them to be bitsas but he reassured me that they are perfectly good Feds just needing a little fettling.
They are still working perfectly although one is suffering from covering rot , probably due to them being overpainted .
So, if you would love a useable classic - Oleg is THE MAN .

4 years ago Oleg replaced curtains and cla'd the Fed NKVD I bought from ebay, he adjusted everything, including the lens

He did a wondeful job

Several of my cameras were repaired by him, including a faulty Iskra from a US seller. At that time he was still repairing Iskras and the camera came in a perfect working condition - until now it keeps working. A superb job in a great camera !

I've sent Oleg email 2 weeks ago - no reply. Is he still in business? Is there better email than on his webpage? Thanks for helping

I've send a second email to Oleg and he responded.

This is an expensive proposition. To send 2 cameras $66 each way, plus repair. About $250 altogether. Would like to hear from those of you who had their camera worked by Oleg if it worth it.

Thanks!

66 would be regular price to ship from me to him.
250 altogether for two cameras to get fixed.
And you are complaining?

Don't do it then. You'll regret it for the rest of rest of your live.
Just get digital PS with fixed, not movable lens for 250 and get rid of FSU. Some of FSU cameras might need repairs not just once.

I had sent him a couple of cameras to him and he did a great job to them. He is highly recommended and he charges quite cheap his services.
The other option I had was sending them elsewhere for five times the cost he had charged me and wait for at least a year to get it back.
I am about to send him another one as soon as I get back home.

If you have more cameras and lenses you can better put it in one parcel.

I just had a repair of a Vega-12 MF lens. Sending too Kiev (Ukraine) via my own courier: Eur. 6,00

Sending back with regular Post registrated: Eur. 40,00

Repair and cleaning of the lens and testing: $45

When I can do some things in Holland it is Eur. 8,60 with registered Post parcel.

There are not so many persons who can do professional repair and C.L.A. about these cameras and lenses.

I've never purchased from Oleg but I've seen a lot positive comments about him on this forum.

I'd like to ask if he CLA the cameras he sell?

I ask so because the cameras shown on the sale page look a bit dirty, I saw on his site "All cameras tested and works fine!" so I assume they are taken before CLA.

If the answer is yes then the price is very reasonable. The price of FSU gears on eBay is just not that cheap now, you can easily see, for example Zorki-1, listed as 50£ or 80$, claimed to be CLA'ed but you never know...

Follow up:

My wife found out if the package is under 4lb, you can mail it for about $40. So much better! You do have ask for it, though. Anyway, my package is under way to Oleg. How long does it usually take? Does Oleg usually notifies you when package arrive?

I wonder if Oleg does the work himself. Quick search shows him to be a manager for a local government. Maybe Russian managers are hands-on? :)

FWI - Oleg is a career civil servant.
Camera repair is his sideline advocation.
Yes, he does all the work himself.

You're in good hands with Oleg!

Was thrilled to hear Oleg received my cameras. Now, I am thinking of a second batch to send.

Got a couple of lenses with haze. When I asked Oleg whether he can fix them, Oleg wrote that he does not normally work on lenses, but would be willing to try.

Had anybody have their lenses with haze fixed by Oleg, and how did it work?

Thanks,
Alex
