Oly 35 SP #1 arrived today!

Very nice indeed. BTW, SP #1? How many more are on the way?

1 more. i bought Kim Coxon's as well. except that one is almost flawless :-D this one i knew had a couple minor issues, and hopefully the lens fungus can be cleaned. otherwise itll become a parts camera.

not to shabby for an evilbay find though!

Cool. The SP was the very first camera I bought on ebay. That was also the first used camera I ever bought, as well as my first RF. ;)

well ill be a darned. the meter is actually fairly accurate when tested against my sekonic l-558R in EV mode.

i think im in love guys. lol. oh and trius. you were absolutely right. the chrome is so satiny and gorgeous. ill leave one of em chrome i promise.

someone hasnt been following my posts :-D

the debt patrol found out about my interest in the m4-p and shut me down like a nuclear power plant.

however i was able to manage t hese two under the radar :-D!

Note I said saving, not immediately buying. :p

These are nice. If I wasn't pondering going Yashica for all my fixed lens rangefinder needs I'd probably go with Olympus. I love my Canonet 28, but I'm wanting something faster.

does anyone know the dates for the serial numbers? a lot of the pictures of SPs that i saw started with 1 or 2, but mine starts with 3

341103 is the serial, any way to judge how old it is?

i still want another Oly RD. its a fast 40mm f/1.7 .

im gon na stick with these fixed lens cameras for a while. till i get that gnarly debt payed off. ill be more than content with some neopan and some fuji e-6

TOLD YA!!!! Both of my SPs have serial #s in the 3 range, I think, but I'll have to check. I've always wondered what the SN range for the SPn is, i.e. did they start a new series, just continue the SP range, etc. And what about the range for the UCs? Rich????

Stephanie: There are plenty of fast Olys. The SPs, some of the older 35 series (e.g. 35 LC), the RD, at least a couple of the the ECs, etc., had 1.7 lenses. No 1.4 like the Yashica though. But, that's not enough of a difference IMO. But I'd take Yashicas if someone gave 'em to me!

My bad ... ONE of my SPs has SN in the 3xxxxx range, the other is 2xxxxx. Hmmm, think I'll start an SP serial number project, maybe in my blog.

i did see one on ebay that was 7xxxxx
how many of theses did olympus make??? heh.

i figured its safe to assume mine is from sometime in between 1969 and 1975 ;)
