Oly 35sp top off

Hi all. Anyone help me out with the above. I need to take lens off so as to remove spots (fungs?) on rear glass. found the 4 screws for lens plate under covering but I think/assume the top needs to come off as well?. Anyway; need to remove it so I can replace missing spot meter button. It's a resto project, bought it for £10.00 and apart from the above everything else works and it's in real nice condition.
One very classy camera; just like my Cosmic Symbol 😀 😀

If I remember right, you will need to remove the rewind crank (unscrew while preventing the forks inside from rotating) then remove the screw(s) beneath that. The wind-on lever needs to come off - I use a piece of silicon rubber to grip the large-head screw and remove it - below that is a specially shaped nut that also needs to come off, I carefully use a slim screwdriver to loosen that.

I think that's all - the ASA dial stays put so there is only the flash contact to watch out for. The black plastic around the button is secured by a small x-head srew and the button slides in from the inside.

Simple job really - just watch out that you don't overtighten the wind-on securing screw on reassembly - the shaft is very slim compared to the head and the amount of torque you can generate - I know, I broke one 🙁

Thanks John; info was spot on. Glad I took the lens off; found a real nasty light trap in there just waiting to drop black bits all over the shop!
