Oly M4/3rds to be Announced.....

I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this, but the 'teaser' last week from Olympus regarding the anniversary of the Pen F has got to be a give-away.
I'm betting that what we'll see will be a reincarnation of the Pen F. (Maybe a Pen-D?)
The four thirds sensor is smaller than half-frame anyway so no problem fitting that in, there is room for battery and memory card where the film used to go, it has a neat viewfinder arrangement within a very small and slim design and the body and lens technology pre-exists. All they had to do was tart it up with a few modern features and "digitise" it!
If that's what it is, I'm in!

OMG ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!

Will, you KNOW you can't fool us ... especially me. :D

I'm glad I haven't made any big moves. My 21/2 would prolly work OK as a normal lens (42mm equivalent ... 35SP has 42mm lens ... hmmmm), so I'd need a 14mm prime to complete the wide end. My OM Zuiko 28 and 50s would cover long normal and short tele.

But ... if it lacks an optical VF, that may be a deal killer for me. I mean, if the VF isn't OM class ....

Earl, I'm serious, the E-620 will last me at least five years just like its predecessor, the E-300. And there are indications that Oly will crank out those sweet compact primes for it :)

I think Gavin posted this website before, but I highly recommend it for all Oly nuts out there: http://43rumors.com

Warning, don't bookmark it if you don't want to suffer GAS... bad GAS.

On that site a post near the bottom cites an anonymous tipster that the camera will be LCD only, no built-in EVF. Doesn't rule out an external, but who knows.

Will: Can I get a 620 without the "art filters" and a discount for buying less "functionality"? :D

I think I'm missing some humour here, in which case forgive me, but how much discount would you expect to get for deleting a couple of lines of software code? And what charge would you consider fair for a programmer to do that and create a one-off, non-standard camera just for you?
I thought the idea was that they (manufacturers) try to please everyone by putting everything in the software and then the bits you don't want you just ignore.

Humour Alert: products with fewer features generally less costly.

Interwebs Alert: presence of emoticons generally try to substitute for non-verbal communication cues.

Oh Earl, the art filters aren't half bad :)

I like the "Contrast B&W" on certain subjects:

And the ladies in my church love the "Soft-focus" filter :p

I'm still playing around with the multiple exposure (very well implemented, btw). This camera is a lot of fun.
