Oly RC Cleaning / Manual

Hi,

I just received a Oly 35 RC yesterday, which I bought for 7,50 € (incl. 5 € shipping) as it was stated defect. Well it wasn't defect at all, just the self-timer lever was stuck. Well so far so good & great. As all of these cameras it needs new light seals and a rf cleaning, as the patch is nearly invisible. Does anybody have a repair manual for the camera (or any similar model)?
If anybody has some instructions how to clean the rf, it'd be great too.

Please no "Send it to cla"-replies, even if it's my first time trying this, I'll try it, cause if I fail not really much is lost.

Well if this works out, I maybe want to adjust the meter for newer batteries and maybe higher iso values (I never shoot below 100 but up to 3200). Can this be done alone too? Any information and hints welcome.

A good point someone here made to me when I got mine is :

The meter only goes down to EV 7 at ISO 100 acurately.

So don't expect it to become a low light camera from just realigning the meter.

well I cleaned the rf windows, but the patch didn't get really brighter, so any hints are welcome. well I don't have any comparisson how bright it should really get (except from a m6 which is just an other league).

replaced the light seals as they were really ****ed up. hope its fine now. time for a test roll.

my light seals are completely gone, but it makes no difference. Seems the RC is light tight without them.

Only problem I have with mine is a stuck screw (any ideas on how to get it out without destroying it ?) and a Vertically misaligned rangefinder wich is annoying me....

ps. yes I tried a screwdriver... 😛

Light tight without them? I have a leak in mine, I think. Great sharp lens, but a red glow in the middle of several of the pictures. Of course the lens is slightly damaged, too. I bought two, and between them I think I have the makings of one very nice camera.

if it's in the middle, light is coming in through your shutter , I'd think.

Unless it's a stripe down the entire film, then it may be on the take-up spool side...

is the thread over there at kyphoto, I also have a missaligned rf, I'll try to fix that during the next days, you couldn't make that with a screwdriver pepe?
it should be this screw named vertical rf adjust here or am I wrong?

and as stated at kyphoto I'll use pure alc for the next cleaning.

Shutter leak? Good thought. If it doesn't need lightseals, then maybe that's the answer. Some of the pictures were just perfect, but a few had this unfortunate red glow.
