Picked up an inexpensive Oly XA2 and now I know why. The viewfinder is only in focus up close. I mean a couple inches up close. Anybody know if there are just the front and back glass, or is there a third element somewhere in there. Otherwise there isn't a mark on the camera. Doesn't look like it was ever used.

I bought a couple of XAs some time back from thrift states. Quite inexpensive. One was $15 the other $35. Both worked but were dirty and the RF and viewfinders were fogged up. I gave them to my camera repair man to work on in his breaks between serious repairs. Months later I picked them up. The CLA was more than I paid for the by a fair amount. But. They are clean and viewing is excellent. The RFs on both are like new. I use them a lot. So, it was worth the time and $ to make them well again.

Lenses look clear with the usual dust. It's like having astigmatism and taking your glasses off. There isn't a scratch on the camera and the screws don't look like anyone's ever been into it. That's what's making me wonder if there's a third element in there that is thin and not aligned correctly as there seems to be a round piece that is not lined up quite right. I guess I'll take the top off and take a peek next week when I get some time.

Got into it. It's missing a lens for sure and the paper covering is gone. Tried cleaning the lenses hoping it was just oil or something but no luck. The grid lines also came mostly off and I was as gentle as I could be. Ah well only out $20.
