Hello everyone, I'm a camera-nerd guy(and long time RFF reader) living in Slovakia, and just want to share some of my DIY projects.
This is the 6 element F.Zuiko 40/1.7 adapted for Fuji. The donor body was an Olympus 35DC with dead electronics. It was a lot of work, but it takes great pics and looks beautifully on my good old X-E1.

The hardest part was to make a working aperture, because OLY 35DC is auto-everything camera so there was no aperture ring. I used the ISO dial, which is on the front just behind the filter ring, and linked it to the shutter mechanism with a screw and a little metal part. The back/mount side of the lens is made from Fuji x - LTM adapter, which I precisely sanded down to achieve the infinity. For putting the parts together I used very strong steel epoxy, then painted it to black.

Here are some sample shots. As expected, it's a little soft wide open, but with beautiful character and stopped down a bit it becomes very sharp and contrasty. As on all fixed-lens rf cameras, focusing throw is very short, but focus peaking/magnification helps a lot so it's totally usable... Maybe someone gets inspired 🙂

woe! best thing i saw in long time!!! you should consider making some canonet or even better canon demi conversion ? i think you could sell those easily...

Amazing! I just had a dream the other night about turning the Oly 35RC lens into an M mount. I have nowhere near the knowhow, but it's good to know these things are possible! Very good work.

Thanks!! Definitely want to make more projects like this... it's just very time-consuming and I also need some donor bodies. Canonet would be great. With the Canon demi, I don't know if the half frame lens can cover the APSC sensor without significant vignetting.

Thank you! Yes, it is possible, the key is only the flange distance. The 35RC is basically the same lens as the DC. My basic idea was conversion to LTM mount, but there wasn't enough space for the mount, because flange distances on these small RF bodies are too short. So I ended up with Fuji-X...

Good job, you got some nice looking pics out of it!

Is the focusing distance the same as before (0.85m) or could you increase it with the new mount?

Thank you! Minimum focusing distance remains the same, but on APSC the lens becomes 60mm, so for most situations it's more than enough.

no vignetting-its same size as half frame... half frame covers 24mm circle because is 24x18..
