The huge advantage the RC has over the ec and ecr is exposure lock-
push the release slowly until the needle stops moving, then compose.
Also the RC shutter release has a much better feel, you can tell pretty well when exactly the shutter opened, where the ec/ecr shutter is a long vague mash with no real positive indication of what exactly just happened or when. You can hear it, but not so much feel any kind of peak release through the fingertip..
I believe the shutter spring in the ec/ecr is powered by the shutter button, rather than wound along with the film advance.
The RC is a bit bigger though and has that pesky wind lever and crank on top..
