I'm just about to try out my "new" LC for the first time and so want to replace the light seals.

The camera is extremely clean inside, but I can only find one seal, by the door hinge. I've replaced that one.

Should there be any other seals? The runners (where the film door close into ) are spotless. I can't see any signs of old seal in there, and also there is no evidence of any seals on the film door.

Is that it? Just one seal? That'd be nice.

TIA

Hi klownshed. My LC is as clean as a whistle inside. Only one (felt) seal by the door. Used it some time ago, no lightleaks.
Cheers, Jan.

Hi Jan,

Thanks for that. I guessed so, but it's good to get confirmation.

A new film is going in now... 🙂

It's a lovely camera, must be quite rare (or just overshadowed by the SP) as there's so little information on it online.

I don't think the meter is to be trusted, but I'll try it with a new battery as it came with an Alkaline in there. I'll try a trusty hearing aid battery and see how accurate it is.

My LC also has no seals in the channels where I thought they would be. I checked with a strong light source and there is no evidence that there ever was any in there. The door hinge is all I ever saw as well. My seal looks to be pretty worn out but I get ZERO light leak issues. I've run 8-10 rolls through mine since getting it a few months ago and it's been perfect. Surprisingly my meter is right on (when checked against my Sekonic 558). I've not checked the batteries, but it just keeps on working 😀

Great old camera in my book, it also looks fantastic as well. (I'd love to do a black paint conversion!)
