Hi everyone;

We're trying to fix two issues with a friend's 35SP rangefinder:

One is the film advance lever, which does not return, and also it doesn't lock after advancing it to the next frame....in other words, you can keep advancing the film without having to trip the shutter.

The other issue is that the rangefinder is out of adjustment. We can get to the rangefinder adjustment screw, but that's as far as we want to go without any kind of information and illustrations on how to go about calibrating the rangefinder.

If you have any illustrations, sketches, or tutorials on how to do the above repairs, we'd really appreciate it. Thank you.

Adjusting the RF isn't too hard, (horizontal, at least) there are a couple of threads here where I have made some suggestions. I have no experience with the film advance issue. For anything other than light seals and RF alignment, I send Oly bodies to zuiko.com.

Regarding the wind issue: inside the bottom cover there is a wind shaft with teeth that turns as you wind. Next to it there should be a little latch on a spring that prevents the wind from operating again until the shutter releases. I don't have one in from of me but if you understand this type of mechanism the fix should be relatively easy. John, www.zuiko.com

Thanks John, for the tip. I thought it would be at the top plate.
Trius, I'll dig thru your blog and try to find it. Thanks!
