Hi, my wonderful Oly 35 SP works very well, but has got one small problem, a ding on the filter thread. It's slightly bent up on the lower side so that the correct 49 mm filters do not fit any more. I was able to fit a 48 mm filter which stays on but only just.

As I'd like to fit a lenshood, can anyone tell me how I can try to get the filter thread straight?

Talking of the lenshood, has anyone such an item lying around unused? Preferably in olde Europe (shipping costs....)

Sorry, can't help you (live in Canada).

My SP was repaired by a local technician who retired three years ago.

Perhaps someone else will chime in regarding a western European repair technician?

Thanks, I think I'll go for the complete CLA as the lens has some dust in it and to be sure to get the best out of my 35 SP

Let us know if you a satisfied with the CLA, and tell us who you used. These cameras are somewhat cheaply made, and filter rings are easy to ding, as are other problems. I've had them. But I like my RF Oly even over my more expensive ones: sometimes.

The cheapest, quickest, easiest fix is take a cheapo 49mm filter, knock the glass out, mount it on the lens and leave the ring mounted. Now can you mount any 49mm filters with no problems.

I took the only reasonable (not economically speaking) solution and sent it off to Will van Manen for a complete CLA.

Now waiting anxiously for his verdict......

The verdict is in, the camera too, and it is in marvelous shape!

Will van Manen did a really great job, complete CLA, lens cleaned of fungus.

I guess I found my favourite camera now. I joined the glorious ranks of the Zuikoholic cult!

Now do I load up with Velvia or Tri-X??????

Now there's a tough choice...
Congrats on getting your SP back and in great working condition...
I found my SP at a local thrift store and it's in great shape...you're going to love that lens...
