Olympus-35 SP Modification / "Hack" for Aperture Priority?

A modification, or "hack", which enables the Olympus-35 SP to function in Aperture Priority mode was recently mentioned in a separate post here on RFF (without further details). Does anyone have additional information regarding this specific modification?

For the sake of clarity:

Aperture Priority: User chooses a specific aperture value (i.e. f5.6) while the camera selects a matching shutter speed in order to produce a correctly exposed photograph given the current light conditions.

The only "hack" that I am aware of is putting both shutter and aperture rings on "A."

Put aperture on A. Now twist shutter speed dial PAST 1/500, to where 1/1000 would be, until you see another A.

But I think this is more of a crude program mode than true aperture priority.

Thanks for the response Larry. Yes, moving the aperture and the shutter speed rings to their respective "A" settings puts the camera in an Automatic Exposure (AE) program mode. In this mode the camera sets both the aperture and shutter speed. More information on that can be found at this link:

That said, I'm still wondering if an Aperture Priority modification really exists?
