On my Olympus 35 RD, all shutter times work fine (including B), except the 1/2 second: it opens the lens when I press the shutterbutton, but only starts "timing" when I release the shutterbutton.
1/4th and all others up to 1/500 work fine. Is there anything I can do about it ?
Regards,
Stefan.

Most probably the shutter speed dial has not been installed correctly so that the shutter mechanism is actually set between B and 1/2 second when the shutter speed dial is set at 1/2 second.
This is not very difficult to fix. You can gain access to the shutter speed dial by removing the lens faceplate and removing the three small screws that hold down the shutter speed detent ring. With the detent ring removed, you will see a splined shaft that engages the shutter speed dial. Turn the splined shaft fully clockwise and then set the shutter speed dial at 500. Reattach the detent ring and check all shutter speeds for correct operation before reattaching the lens faceplate.
Two things to watch out for: there is a small detent ball at the back of the detent ring -- don't lose it; when you reattach the lens faceplate check that the disk for the meter cell couples correctly with the tab in the lens barrel.

Yes, just being off 1 tooth in shutter dial position could cause 1 speed to not work properly. John
