Olympus 35sp repair

Hello all
I need your advise and help concerning my new Oly 35sp.
It's shutter is stuck and self-timer is not working.
Can anyone please point me to a site or an on-line manual
of shutter repair for this model.

I haven't done it on either of my SPs, so I can't comment from experience. You should probably be able to access the shutter by removing the trim ring, and aperture and shutter speed rings. (I have an Olympus Auto Electroset with a Seiko shutter of older vintage, I think it's similar.) That's not a hard job, just make notes as disassemble; I also keep parts from each assembly in individual plastic bags, i.e. Ziploc or similar.

I don't have much experience withthe 35SP but what is the problem with the timer? If this is stuck, you won't be able to release the shuuter. A common problem on the Canonets. Get the timer sorted and then if the shutter doesn't work, you will need to think about cleaning the blades.

I'm kind of surprised to find so little repair info
on 35sp, I thought it was a popular one among RF fans.

As for the timer, lever goes from one side to the other
and returns immediately with a spring movement. it does not
catch on the end nor it sounds any ratchet sound.

Can anyone please advise on how close is the
35sp shutter design to the 35rc shutter design?

I ask this since for the 35rc it is possible to find repair manuals
and for the 35sp I couldn't locate one.

The shutter on the RC only goes down to 1/15, while the SP shutter reaches 1sec. The RC shutter is controlled by a dial on the top plate, rather than a lens-mounted control ring. Given those differences, I would doubt a repair manual or guide for the RC would be much help with the SP.

I have a question about the operation of this shutter in my Auto Electroset, but I'll start another thread.
