Olympus E-P2

Dang it. That EVF design is ugly as xxxx. Couldn't they make it a bit better? I was hoping they'll mimic an external light meter or something...

I don't really care what cameras look like and if it fit my needs I'd buy it, but that thing is really ugly!

someone at Olympus really messed up here. They designed a retro clean body and then they match it with this honking big plasticky looking evf. ugh. I hope Ricoh will salvage the small format mirror-less cameras with internal evf. Now I really believe that Panasonic being the leader in m43... I hope this is not the "pro" camera that Oly was talking about.

Once again I must say I am STILL happy with my film rangefinder. Money aside I still see the M9 leading the digital pack.

Am I the only one who thinks that it's not ugly? Just looks like a medium format SLR prism. It is rather big though, sort of missing the point of having a small body, but I guess you can't have everything!

considering that the only time i'd want to use an accessory EVF is with a bulky zoom lens, it doesn't seem that awful. at least they didn't build it into the body.

they also have two new zoom lenses:

9-18mm f4-5.6
14-150mm f4-5.6

less and less interested in m4/3. :(

Some useful pictures of the GF1 and EP2 with their respective EVFs mounted.

I'm not interested in the side of the finder that most people here seem to be complaining about. Given some of the user icons on this thread, I feel confident that the finder will not be the most ugly thing in the general direction of the camera anyway :-D

Still not much info - it will probably be a bit before the previews come out.

I don't like it. An internal EVF like the one in the G1 would have been so nice. Since the OM2, Olympus has almost always managed to disappoint me. I have the same problem with the GF-1, though.

Cheers

I still love and use my old school Olympus E1. I really haven't needed an upgrade, but have long hoped for a similiar construction (in terms of weather sealing and ruggedness) in a smaller package.

If an EP-Pro ever were to come out, with a flip out screen and all-weather body, I would pay as much as I originally payed for the E1, as size is the primary upgrade I want now.

No VF, they complain.
Have one, now it must be pretty.

Folks, that EVF can swivel 90 degrees...

And finally, a real matte black body, none of those silver/white stuff.

I like it.

still waiting for the Leica X-2 M or 4/3rds. has to happen, you know. this is only the beginning...a kind of rally by the consortium for some ready cash to move on to the big one.
