Olympus mju-II question (film winding)

Help wanted

I have a old Mju with some wierd problems.
The camera works (almost) fine when the back lid (film loading door) is open but when i close the back door the camera, nothing happens when i press the picture button. The information is still in the display (battery, flash and 0 pictures taken)

one more time for the order of things.
I turn the camera on, press the button. Nothing happens.
I open the back door, press the button. works fine.
Close the door again, press the button. nothing happens. :bang:

Any ideas?

Hi,

Can't be 100% certain but it probably needs a film in it to start things going.

Looking at cameras in flea markets I often find ones with a usable battery in them but without a film they don't do anything except switch on.

Nowadays I've a collection of salvaged films to test them with for a few shots and then unload manually and rewind the film back into the cassette for the next test/camera.

Regards, David

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear that but keep looking; millions of the things were made and you'll always find another one as cheap or cheaper. It's patience that's needed mostly and, when you do find one that's mint-ish (or scratched and so on) and working, you won't regret it.

Good luck.
